Get To Know The Founder

Rose Price grew up as an orphan; her relatives, especially her grandmother, made sure she and her siblings had food, shelter, and school fees, as orphans in Uganda are at risk of dropping out of school due to a lack of school fees and requirements. After finishing high school, she started caring for my siblings. It was hard for her to be a mom and a provider, but God was with them through it all.

Rose became a part of Southbridge in 2011, and in 2013, she and her husband started sponsoring three girls who lived with their grandmother, as she used to. Later, the Lord made it clear that this was what He wanted them to do, to advocate for the forgotten. Verses like Luke 6:32, Matthew 9:37, and Joshua 1:9 became constant reminders.

Ever since they became a non-profit, the Lord has moved in mighty ways changing lives. Caregivers have trusted Jesus, and children are developing personal relationships with Jesus. They provide food, school fees, and school requirements so that orphans and vulnerable children have equal education opportunities.

Rose is currently on staff at Southbridge and runs SCCM.

about second chance

Second Chance Children’s Ministry cares for orphaned and abandoned children. They believe that every child is created in God’s image, and that revealing their identities in Christ will bring about generational change.

SCCM is a nonprofit organization founded in 2020 in Uganda and in 2022 in North Carolina. They are dedicated to reaching, teaching, and equipping impoverished orphans and vulnerable children through the gospel. The foundation began as a charity initiative, established by the founding members' common desire to pool resources to support intervention mechanisms for orphans and vulnerable children.

Orphans and vulnerable children are faced with a lot of challenges: sex trafficking, homelessness, poverty, educational inequality, childhood marriages, unemployment, and school-to-prison pipelines. Vulnerable children are more likely to be affected by these social issues. They believe we can be the hope they desperately need by being the hands and feet of Jesus!
